2008 Winner Leading Volunteerism Group in Kenya

In 2008, Action For Nature introduced Linus Wafula, of Nairobi, Kenya to the Jane Goodall Institutes Roots & Shoots program. He has since, taken an active leadership role as National Volunteer Coordinator of the Eco Club Action Roots & Shoots Volunteers (RSV) in Kenya.

His Eco-Club Action volunteers seek to uphold the values of Roots & Shoots by “promoting respect, responsibility, and gratitude towards the environment, animal welfare and humanity.”

Under his leadership, the group participated in a tree planting program in April 2010. Members helped plant 30,000 tree seedlings in the Ngong Forest in Kenya as part of an effort to prepare for World Environment Day and World Biodiversity Day. Eco-Club Action also volunteered during the 2010 United Nations Day in October.
