imagesDid you know that the average North American produces approximately 4.4 pounds (2kg) of solid waste each day? This adds up to almost 60 tons of trash over the course of their lifetime!

Did you know that garbage remains in a landfill for an average of 30 years before decomposing? This volume of garbage could be greatly reduced since 84 % of all household waste can be recycled.

You can make the effort to recycle magazines, newspapers, plastic bottles, glass and plastic containers. Donate that old furniture you don’t want or the car you have had for 10 years.  You can make a difference!

Just think, recycled paper requires 64% less energy than making paper from virgin wood pulp, and can save many trees.  Every ton of paper that is recycled saves 17 trees.  The amount of wood and paper we throw away is enough to heat 50 million homes for 20 years!

So before you throw the mail or that newspaper in the garbage, please think and recycle.
